i love making new friends!  our lovely friend marie leafblad told us about some friends of hers staying in melbourne and how we would all get along really well.  well...she was right!  adam and justina are just lovely!  and they have great minnesota accents too, so that makes eben and i feel warm and fuzzy inside (the good kind).

Anxious.

I'm so busy lately I'm finding it difficult to relax and just go with the flow... Very annoying! I love my home time so I'm not sure how I feel about the busy lifestyle lately!
Christmas is almost here so time off work is within reach!!

self portrait.

i think self portraits are important.  i think they can mean absolutely nothing, you're just bored or you have an idea for a shoot and no one else is around.  then there is some other meaning... something you dont want anyone else to shoot but yourself because you're the only one who can capture it the way it should be captured.
anyway this is a mixture of both.

Well my plan is to GET INSPIRED! I want to be creative and explore my ideas instead of allowing them to sit in my brain and get crusty ...

frustrated.

*VENT*
i get pretty frustrated when girls agree to do shoots with me - for free - and then decide once the photos are done and all the hard work is out of the way and i want to show them off to the world by putting them online, in particular facebook (which is how i get 80% of my clients),  i get a txt or email asking to take them down because someone said it was too raunchy or bla bla bla!  DONT DO THE SHOOT!
i need to advertise myself, and what i love to shoot more than anything is beautiful, sexy women... it drives me absolutely crazy!!!!

inspiration

lately ive had all these ideas and inspirations, but im afraid ill forget about them and never end up doing them....like ive done many times before... so this time im putting it in words, on the web, in hope that it'll make it more set in stone!  kinda of like the internet will hold me to my word..
so here are my ideas:
taking photos of the food i cook/bake - these past few days ive been looking up a lot of baking recipes from the States.  they all look SO amazing and i want to try them, but i thought it would be great to take shots too!
burlesque - there is a beautiful girl who wants to model for me and who i have been wanting to shoot for ages!  she is simply stunning and i think she would be perfect to photograph.  she dances burlesque under an alias and i love it!  the plan is to shoot her sometime in early november.  fingers crossed!
pregnancy shoot - there is a girl who i knew from high school who is 5 months pregnant.  she isnt too keen on having baby shots taken but im really keen to do something casual with her, some on film, some on digital.
mannequin shoot - with my cousin.  this may be a little tricky because mannequins are a little pricey to hire, but we'll see what we can do!

well this will do for now! lets see how i go :)

USA

About 5 weeks ago we returned from the USA, we went to LA, MN (to visit family and friends) and NY.  While in MN we spent 5 days in a cabin in Wisconsin for the 4th of July weekend.  It was a lot of fun to be around the whole family and the kids.  To be honest there were times where i wanted to run away and find a nice hot shower a toilet that flushed and no mossies BUT aside from that it was a wonderful experience.  I thought it would be fun to add some photos to my blog, i have some photos that i will simply cherish.
Who knows the next time we'll be back :(  Unfortunately thats how it has to go, unless the whole fam move here! Problem solved! ;)
Some of these photos are slightly pixelated and thats because ive uploaded a low res version - it was taking WAY too long to upload the big files.
